Abstract: A method for executing a cross-trade. The
method includes the steps of receiving at
a computer carried by a floor broker a sell
order for execution, the sell order concerning
an instrument and including a first set of
terms and also a buy order for execution,
the buy order concerning the instrument and
having a second set of terms which is compatible
with the first set of terms. The method permits
the floor broker to cross at least a portion
of the buy order with the sell order using
the computer and to selectively transmit
to a remote computer the crossed portion
of the buy and sell orders. As a result,
a cross-trade is reported to the remote computer
and executed.

Abstract: The noise suppressor utilizes statistical
characteristics of the noise signal to attenuate
amplitude values of the noisy speech signal
that have a probability of containing noise.
In one embodiment, the noise suppressor utilizes
an attenuation function having a shape determined
in part by a noise average and a noise standard
deviation. In a further embodiment, the noise
suppressor also utilizes an adaptive attenuation
coefficient that depends on signal-to-noise
conditions in the speech recognition system.

Abstract: A circuit model ( 50 ) for use in analyzing a VCM circuit has
a first resistor ( 62 ), a first inductor ( 64 ), a second inductor ( 58 ), and a voltage source ( 60 ), in series modeling, respectively, a VCM
inductor, a winding leakage inductance of
the VCM inductor, a VCM inductor resistance,
and a BEMF voltage generated across the VCM
inductor when the input nodes are open circuited.
An input capacitor ( 56 ) interconnects the input terminals ( 52,54 ) to model an equivalent capacitance of the
VCM inductor. Third and fourth inductors
( 32,34 ) and a second resistor ( 36 ) are connected in a first series loop (
28 ) inductively coupled to the second inductor
( 58 ) to model, respectively, an inductance of
the top VCM magnet plate, the leakage inductance
of the top VCM magnet plate, and a resistance
of the top VCM magnet plate. Fifth and sixth
inductors ( 78,80 ) and a third resistor ( 72 ) are connected in a second series loop inductively
coupled to the second inductor ( 58 ) to model, respectively an inductance of
the bottom VCM magnet plate, the leakage
inductance of the bottom VCM magnet plate,
and the resistance of said top VCM magnet
plate.

Abstract: The invention relates to an exhaust heat
exchanger (1), in particular an exhaust cooler
for motor vehicles with exhaust recycling,
comprising a housing sleeve (2) for a coolant
and a nest of tubes (3) with exhaust flowing
through and coolant circulating around the
above which are mounted on the housing sleeve
by means of tube plates (4), whereby said
nest of tubes, the tube plate and the housing
sleeve form a closed force flow. According
to the invention, a sliding seating (5) is
arranged in the force flow, either in the
housing sleeve or between a tube plate and
the housing sleeve. The various expansions
of the nest of tubes and of the housing sleeve
are thus compensated for, such that unsupportable
high loads do not occur in the components
of the exhaust heat exchanger.
