Abstract: A multimedia processing apparatus and method is provided for a mobile phone. The multimedia processing apparatus of a mobile phone includes a first multimedia module for receiving and demodulating broadcast data to produce first multimedia data; a second multimedia module for generating second multimedia data; a selector for selecting one of the first and second multimedia modules and interfacing with the first and second multimedia modules; a multimedia processing unit including a protocol processor and video and audio codecs, the protocol processor and the audio and video codecs being activated according to a source selection signal when the first multimedia module is selected, and only the audio and video codecs being activated when the second multimedia module is selected; and a display for displaying multimedia data processed by the multimedia processing unit.

Therefore, even if an insulating substrate expands due to heat, erroneous alignment is not generated between a projection of the semiconductor layer and the source electrode and the drain electrode, thereby improving manufacturing efficiency and performance of a thin film transistor array panel.

Abstract: Disclosed is a bridged portable internet system, which includes: a plurality of edge bridges entirely connected as a mesh structure to form a core network, and configured as a layer 2 switch; a plurality of Radio Access Stations (RASs) connected to one of the plurality of edge bridges to provide portable internet services to Mobile Nodes (MNs) within the range of services; and a Neighbor Discovery Server (NDS) for supporting neighbor discovery of components in the network and storing and managing configuration information of the components, wherein each of the plurality of edge bridges maintains an optimal path through a predetermined routing protocol, identifies the destination of a Media Access Control (MAC) frame transmitted by an MN connected to an edge bridge itself through a corresponding RAS by referring to the configuration information from the NDS so as to transmit a corresponding MAC frame to the MAC address of an edge bridge to which a corresponding CN is connected by performing MAC in MAC encapsulation if receiving a MAC in MAC encapsulated frame with its own MAC address as a destination, and performs MAC in MAC encapsulation with the frame to delete an outer MAC address and to transmit an original MAC frame to a corresponding MN.

Accordingly, since an adjacent track write (ATW) problem, which may occur due to a narrow gap between adjacent tracks, and a weak write problem, which may occur due to a short media recording length per data bit, can be simultaneously considered, high reliability can be secured in terms of recording and reproducing in an HDD.

The data line extends between the unit pixel areas. The pixel electrode is disposed in the unit pixel area. The pixel electrode is electrically connected to an output electrode of a switching element electrically connected to the gate and data lines. The shielding electrode is disposed the gate and data lines. The shielding electrode has an opening an opening formed therein, the opening disposed above and extending along a direction of the gate line.

Abstract: A suppression method that provides adaptive (i.e., selective) processing of an input picture to generate an enhanced output picture with ringing-like areas of the input picture suppressed. For each such window in the input picture, if the window is detected as around a ringing-like area in the picture, then the output pixel for the position of the window comprises the low-pass filtered (i.e., smoothed) pixel in the input picture. However, if the window is not detected as around a ringing-like area (i.e., the window is around a non-ringing-like area) then the output pixel for the position of the window comprises essentially the unchanged window in the input picture. As a result no blurring is introduced into the input picture in areas where ringing-like patterns are not detected. Therefore, the output picture includes portions of the input picture in which ringing-like patterns were not detected, and portions of the input picture with suppressed ringing-like patterns where detected. The output picture is an enhanced version of the input picture with suppressed (i.e., smoothed) ringing-like patterns.
